WorkBC Custom Workshops and Workshop Modernization
I designed and modernize career development workshops that prepare job seekers for a competitive and ever-changing job market. My audience includes everyone from professionals, newcomers to Canada, and individuals facing barriers, so each session is built to be practical, inclusive, and easy to apply. All workshops are delivered virtually through Microsoft Teams, making them accessible to participants across the province.
Created from scratch
I developed six original workshops with a strong focus on soft skills and meaningful connection. Canadian Workplace Culture for Newcomers and Communication & Professionalism help participants navigate unwritten workplace expectations and build confidence in how they interact with colleagues and employers. Working in BC: Rights & Regulations equips them to understand and advocate for their rights. Building an Employment Skills Portfolio and Career Fair Preparation help participants showcase their strengths and make strong first impressions, while Difficult Interview Topics prepares them to speak honestly and confidently about challenges such as employment gaps.
Updated and modernized
I also refreshed five core workshops with current hiring practices, new content, and a stronger emphasis on soft skills and connecting with others: Building a Targeted Resume, Managing Emotions, Networking and Informational Interviews, Self Marketing, and Interview Skills. Interactive activities and a focus on relationship-building make these sessions engaging, even in a virtual setting.
