Flipped Classroom

Flipped learning shifts direct instruction outside the classroom (e.g., video lectures or readings) so class time can focus on active learning. In a balanced classroom:

  • Pre-Class Learning: Students review new material at home using teacher-provided videos, podcasts, or readings.
  • In-Class Application: Classroom time is spent on collaborative activities like group discussions, problem-solving exercises, or peer teaching.
  • Teacher as Facilitator: The teacher supports students during in-class work, answering questions and guiding deeper understanding.

Example: In a math class, students watch a video on solving quadratic equations at home. The next day in class, they collaborate on challenging problems while the teacher offers support as needed.
